Most businesses these days will have a website, but what is a website for?
It’s not good enough to simply have a website, it needs to work for you. Let’s have a look at our 5 top tips!
In our current ‘Google’ world, people will click on your site link and make the decision very quickly about whether they are going to stay on your page – this might only take a few seconds of their time.
So, how are you going to keep someone on your page? You might have the best products or service out there, but you need to attract and keep attention of the viewer to make the sale. Think carefully about colour, picture and layout. If your page isn’t as successful as you would like, there are many companies out there who can advise. Contact us here at YesCanDo Web Design and let us evaluate your site today!
If you haven’t made it easy for people to find what they’re looking for on your page, they aren’t going to stay on your page to figure it out for themselves! There are three main things that people visiting your website will want to know: what you are offering that is different from ‘the others’, how to purchase your assistance/products and how to contact you to ask for help.
Tabs on the landing page are the easiest way for people to access this information and people in general are used to navigating webpages via tabs, if you have different ideas for navigation do get someone else to evaluate this for you.
Quite often, contact information can be found by scrolling right to the bottom of a webpage. This is just annoying! Make your contact page easily accessible the minute someone lands on your page.
Next step: think about the devices people are going to be using to access your page. When people land using their computer, tablet or phone, make it easy for them to email you! Have a link they can click on to email you.
*Top Tip* people want to know how long they will have to wait for a response – have this written clearly on the email page (and make sure you can respond in that time!). With people on the go more and more, you really HAVE to have a clickable phone number. People want to know the answer ‘now!’ – give them what they want!
YesCanDo Web Design always make contact information stand out and located in several places. We do this for all our websites and believe along with it being clickable that it is vital!
Not too long ago, this could have been included under the ‘accessible contact information’ heading.

SEO stands for “search engine optimisation.” It is the process of getting traffic from the “free,” “organic,” “editorial” or “natural” search results on search engines. Great, but what does this really mean?
Articles that are written to be SEO, examine what you are really trying to do with your site. This is then expressed through keywords. For example, if your aim is to appear on the first page of a Google search when someone searches for "Best Hayling Island Estate Agent", your SEO writer should write you an article with that has these keywords and string phrases in.
This is something you can learn to do, but when you are looking for either a great lift for your site or a new website, always ask for SEO content to be written by a professional. Here at YesCanDo web design; website wording, written by our professional copy writer is part of the website cost.
